Chaba River

Jasper National Park, Improvement District No. 12, AB, Canada

Description:

The Chaba River is one of the main tributaries of the Athabasca River and flows through the western part of Alberta Province in Canada. It originates in the depths of the Rocky Mountains of Canada, from where it receives meltwater from the glacial field of the summit of Mount Chaba and the small glacier of Mount Quincy. The source of Chaba is located at an altitude of 1597 meters above sea level, and the banks of the river are strewn with small pebbles and pebbles.

The Chaba River was named by geologist Coleman, a native of Eastern Canada, born in 1852. According to him, at almost every step on the river you can see beaver dams and fragments of trees, which became the basis of its name, because Chaba in Indian means “for beavers”.

The river for all its existence attracted many tourists with its colorful landscapes, shallow water and fresh air of a quiet forest.
