Miette River
Jasper National Park, Jasper, AB, Canada
Description:
The Miette River originates in Canada’s Jasper National Park and runs through the province of Alberta. The name of the river has two origins - French-Canadian and Indian. In the first case, it is descended from the French-Canadian workers of the Northwest Hudson Bay Company, and in the second it refers to the symbolic snow animal of Jasper National Park.
The length of the river is 90 kilometers, and its source is at an altitude of 1643 meters above sea level. At first, the river moves east, but then turns south, where it merges with the Athabasca River. Along its way, it passes through the Rocky Mountains - the main mountains of the Serena of America, where tourists like to relax.
