Description:
Knows Hill Park is Canada’s largest urban park. The origin of its name is unknown, but there is a fairly popular legend that says that a European explorer who visited these parts from afar saw the nose of his boss in the outlines of the hill. Whether this is true or not is unknown, but this version is often heard.
The area in which the Park of Knows Hill, truly can be called unique. In addition to the unique vegetation and ancient relief, numerous archaeological monuments have been preserved here, which are an invaluable source of historical information. More than 66 native plant species grow here. Local meadows are unique and are almost in danger of extinction. The rapid development of industry in North America led to the fact that more than 95% of pastures were lost. Therefore, the luxurious landscapes of Knows Hill Park can be considered not only a monument of nature, but also of history.
