Park Riley
Northwest Calgary, Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Description:
Riley Park was once part of a 146,000-hectare plot of land known as the Cochrane Ranch. Between 1888 and 1909, the estate of the Riley family stood on the site where the park now stands. After the death of the head of the family Ezra Riley in 1904, the 20-acre plot, which is now Riley Park, was donated to the city of Calgary.
The park is the venue for the Calgary Cricket League and also hosts free city concerts in the summer. On the territory of this family park there is a children's pool, several fountains, a place for picnics and a children's playground.
