Stampid Park

Stampede Park, Calgary, AB T2P 2K8, Canada

Description:

Calgary Stampid is a real highlight of the city, a mandatory point of the program of visiting the city in the summer. Every year Calgary, surrounded by farmland, lives up to its reputation as the "Cowboy City" when it hosts the ten-day Stampid Festival. During the festival, Calgary unites all fans of the Wild West. Fans of rodeo and Indian culture gather here, agricultural exhibitions are held.

In 1964, a decision was made to acquire former military land located in the southwest of Calgary to create a city park. After repeated changes to the original project, the land was finally assigned to the Stampid Festival Directorate. A large-scale expansion of the park was carried out, which resulted in a modern shopping and entertainment district, a picturesque park, as well as a new arena for agricultural exhibitions.

The renovated Sampid Park has become a central gathering place for tourists and Calgary residents. More than 2.5 million people annually attend numerous sports and entertainment events, concerts, exhibitions and other events, the total number of which annually exceeds 1000 events.
