Aerospace Museum

4629 McCall WayNE, Calgary, AB T2E 7H1, Canada

About the company:

The Calgary Aerospace Museum was founded in 1960 and was originally called the Aviation Museum of Canada. Initially, most of his collection was a collection of private jets. After the museum was disbanded in 1971, its exhibits became the property of the municipality and were placed in the city planetarium for storage and display.

A new phase in the life of the museum began in 1975, when it was officially registered as a non-profit, charitable organization. The new structure took care of all the care and maintenance of aircraft. By the end of the 70s, the organization had its own office, and the company was headed by the former director of Calgary Airport, who had retired by that time.

In 1985, the Aerospace Museum moved to a former World War II helicopter hangar. During the war years, air force pilots were trained here. Since then, the museum has always been based here and presents its guests with information about the development of aviation, as well as unique samples of aircraft of different times - airplanes, passenger and military aircraft, models of aircraft and many more things appear to the eyes of astonished visitors.
