Alberta Naval Museum
1820 24 Street Southwest, Calgary, AB, Canada
About the company:
The Albert Naval Museum traces its history back to the Naval Reserve Division of Calgary. It was created in 1923 to prepare volunteers for service in the Navy. The Albert Naval Museum was established in 1988 to commemorate the people who dedicated their lives to serving in the Royal Canadian Navy.
The museum is the second largest and most important naval museum in Canada. Its exposition presents the most interesting and exciting items that tell about the features of service in the Navy. Here you can see the restored RCN fighters, models of warships, weapons and periscope, which is very popular with children.
The Naval Museum houses an archive of documents and photographs that capture important events from Canadian naval history. A few years ago, here was presented to the public the original of the famous German machine Enigma, used to encrypt messages addressed to military submarines. Visiting this museum, you will learn about the 100-year history of naval affairs in Canada, about the brave defenders of the world’s longest coastline.
