Calgary International Airport

Description:

Calgary International Airport is one of Canada’s largest international airports, offering direct flights to the United States, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia. The airport is located in the northeast of the city of Calgary and annually serves more than 12 million passengers.

Calgary International Airport was founded in 1914 and has since gone from a grass-covered airfield to the country’s most modern airport. Calgary has three asphalt runways capable of handling the heaviest airbuses in the world. It houses the headquarters of the largest Canadian aviation companies - WestJet and Air Canada.

Calgary is Canada’s fourth busiest airport.

In addition to high performance, the airport administration also cares about the comfort of passengers. Calgary is one of the few airports in Canada where passengers can pass U.S. primary border control. This is extremely convenient for those who go to the United States.
