Quebec City

Quebec is a classic

Description:

Quebec City is the former capital of Nouvelle-France and the real capital of the French-speaking Canadian province of Quebec.

Driving through the old Porte Kent Gate, you will enter Old Quebec, the oldest city in Canada. It still retains the unique atmosphere of the European Middle Ages. You will not see this atmosphere anywhere else in North America. It is no coincidence that the old part of the city is declared a world heritage by UNESCO.

You will see many historical monuments, medieval buildings, Renaissance buildings, Catholic cathedrals, Jesuit and Franciscan monasteries.

You will see: the Citadelle (Citadelle) - one of the most famous forts in North America, the pearl of architecture - the famous hotel "Chateau Frontenac" (Fairmont Chateau Frontenac), the Parliament building of the province of Quebec (Hotel du Parlament), Notre-Dame-de-Quebec Basilica (Notre-Dame-Quebec Basilica), the Price building (Edifice Price), the Museum of the fort (Musee du Fort), the monument to the founder of Quebec Samuel Champlain (Louis XIV) and Louis XIV.

From the steep banks of the upper part of Old Quebec opens the vastness of the great river San Laurent (Saint-Laurent).

In the lower part of the Old Town you will have the opportunity to walk along the cobblestone pavement of the oldest and most charming street in North America – Petit Champlain. On the ancient Royal Square (Place Royale) you will see the oldest stone church in North America - the Cathedral of Notre Dame des Victories.

On the cozy French streets there are many souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants. You will also see the Old Port and the Museum of Civilization.

And finally, you will visit the famous 83-meter waterfall of Montmorency (chute Montmorency), which is located in a beautiful park 16 kilometers from the city. It amazes with its greatness, power and beauty.
