St. Anne's Canyon

Canada, Quebec Province, Beaupre City

Description:

St. Anne's Canyon on the River Sainte-Anne du Nord is a natural attraction located in the province of Quebec in Canada. Cutting through the rocky walls of the gorge, the river rushes down in several cascades from a height of seventy-four meters.

The canyon with the waterfall was opened by the McNicole family, engaged in logging in the area only in 1965. In 1973, the canyon was equipped for tourists. Since then, about one hundred thousand people come to admire the waterfall of St. Anna every year.

For the convenience of visitors, three suspension bridges are thrown over the canyon. The upper one is fifty-five meters above ground level. Also on the banks of the canyon there are arbors and observation decks. Fans of more extreme recreation can walk along the canyon wall along the so-called Via Ferrata - a section of rock equipped with metal brackets for mounting climbing equipment.
