Forillon National Park

122 Boulevard de Gasp, Canada

Description:

Forillon National Park is a Canadian park located at the tip of the Gaspe Peninsula and belongs to the province of Quebec. Within the boundaries of the park you can find such natural areas as rocks, sand dunes, salt marshes, forests and sea coasts. The park was founded in 1970. It was the first national park in the province of Quebec. The modern area of Forillon Park is 244 square kilometers of the territory of this province.

A special pride of the park and the main protected object within its borders are nesting places for sea birds. A lot of attention is paid to local residents such as whales, moose, black bears, lynx and foxes and other animals. In order to create the first environmental zone of Forillon, it was necessary to conclude many agreements with the local population. As a result, about 100 families of the local population were resettled from the territory concluded today within the park. To date, you can still find abandoned dwellings in the dense massifs of the Forillon Park.
