Pie-IX Bridge

Boulevard Pie-IX, Laval, Canada

Description:

The Pie-IX Bridge is the second highway that connects the eastern part of Laval with the island of Montreal across the River de Prairie. The impressive structure of the bridge is located above the gorge at the end of Pie-IX Boulevard. The bridge used to be part of a motorway until a new toll bridge was built for it. Pie-IX is part of Route 125 in Quebec.

The bridge is officially named Le Caron after Canadian missionary Joseph Le Caron. However, the local, more common name of the highway was in honor of the Boulevard of the same name, which glorifies the name of the Pope of the Catholic Church.
