Mansel Island
Description:
Mansell is a large island that is part of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. The area of the island is 3180 square kilometers. The discovery of the island occurred in the early seventeenth century under the guidance of Welsh explorer Thomas Button.
The island has a flat landscape and is located at an altitude of 40-50 meters above sea level. There are several lakes on the island, the largest of which is Dugger. In the past, the island was part of the mainland.
The island is named after Robert Mancel, the English Vice Admiral of the Merchant Navy and a Member of Parliament. The climate on the island is harsh, arctic, so the flora is extremely scarce, and the island itself is uninhabited.
