Frontenac Castle

1 Rue des Carriè res, Qu bec, QC G1R 4P5, Canada

Description:

Behind the walls of a beautiful medieval castle hides fashionable hotel "Chateau Frontenac". And the medieval pseudo-castle is quite conditional. It was built and opened in 1893. It is named after Louis de Bouad, Count of Frontenac, who was governor of the colony of New France in the late 18th century. He is considered the founding father of Canada.

In an architectural sense, the building combines the architectural styles of Scottish and French Renaissance masters. The interiors, as befits the castle, are finished with taste and luxury: baths in marble, the decor is truly royal. The high class of the hotel is supported by its guests: European monarchs, heads of state, high-ranking politicians, movie and show business stars, etc. Known and historical date - in 1943 there were negotiations Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt.

The splendor of the interior decoration complements the magnificent view from the windows of the castle. From the upper floors there is a beautiful panorama of the river valley and the surrounding area.

Frontenac Castle is considered one of the main attractions of Quebec and the most photographed hotel in the world.
