Vapus National Park

Wapuz Churchill, Manitoba, Canada

Description:

Wapusk National Park was founded in 1996 in Canada on the coast of Hudson Bay, Manitoba. Vapus - in the Cree language means "polar bear", to protect the population of which this National Park was created.

It covers 11,475 square kilometers, of which 10,000 belong to the Hudson Lowland and the subarctic shores of Hudson Bay. In general, this park is one of the wildest "islands" of Canadian nature.

The climate of this place determines the proximity of the Arctic Ocean. There is always a long, harsh winter and short summer. In addition to polar bears here you can find large herds of caribou deer and a grandiose number of waterfowl.
