Deer lake
Description:
Deer Lake is one of the largest Canadian reservoirs, which belongs to the network of glacial lakes. The appearance of the lake, according to hydrographers, refers to the time of the ice age on Earth. Today, the area of Deer Lake is 6,650 square kilometers. From November to June, the water is covered with ice.
In the water area of the lake there are three relatively small villages, the main activity of which is ice fishing. In the lake there is a northern pike, perch, lake trout and many other fish.
Notable is the so-called Deep Bay, which is located at the southern end of the lake. Its depth reaches 220 meters, and its width is 5 kilometers. The bay was formed as a result of a meteorite fall about 100 million years ago.
