Description:
The Church of St. Peter is located in the heart of the modern Montreal Gay District in the Canadian city of Montreal. In 1851, according to the project of architect Victor Burgo, the construction of a Catholic church was started. Catholic missionaries from the Society of Saint Sulpicius and the Monastic Congregation of Oblats were invited to work. The future Church of the Holy Apostle Peter was to become a kind of temple of the Holy Trinity in Brooklyn.
In 1931 construction was completed. In addition to the main temple on the territory there is a small chapel. Inside, altars of pink marble were erected in memory of St. Teresa the Infant Jesus and the Canadian martyrs. Today, the Church of St. Peter is included in the list of historical and cultural values of Quebec.
