Dorchester Square Park
Description:
Dorchester Square is a small urban park located in the business center of Montreal. The square is very beautiful and is a popular place for walking and resting citizens.
Dorchester Square appeared on the city map in the 19th century. Initially, the city cemetery was located on this site, but later all the bodies were exhumed and reburied. The vacated space was decided to turn into a picturesque park, which opened to the public in 1878. The area of the green zone was slightly more than two hectares.
Today, Dorchester is one of the most beautiful sights of Montreal. There are many trees and greenery growing on the square, flower beds are broken here and many beautiful monuments are installed. The park is open to visitors 24 hours a day, which many tourists enjoy - thanks to the thoughtful lighting, Dorchester Square looks even more beautiful at night than during the day.
