Japanese garden
4581 Rue Sherbrooke Est, Montr al, QC H1X 2B1, Canada
Description:
The Japanese Garden is located in the Montreal Botanical Garden. All the elements of this garden are harmoniously arranged, which creates a sense of calm. It is a meditative place filled with symbolism. Every tree, every bush, every stone was carefully adapted to create a harmonious whole.
The garden was created in 1988 on the territory of 2.5 hectares.
All paths of the garden lead to a pond with a series of waterfalls and streams, where visitors can admire carp floating in shallow water.
The garden also houses a Japanese-style cultural pavilion that hosts various tea exhibitions. Tea ceremonies are held here throughout the summer. Other traditional Japanese arts such as ikebana and iaido are also exhibited here.
