Olympic Tower
3200 Viau St., Montreal, Canada
Description:
One of the hallmarks of Montreal is the Olympic Stadium with an inclined tower, which opens an amazing panorama of the city. By the way, only from the observation deck located in the tower, you can see the stadium, in its shape resembling a maple leaf. On several floors of the tower are conference rooms and cocktail halls.
The idea of creating the original sports arena belonged to the French architect Roger Taillibert, who proposed to build a huge transformer stadium with an adjustable roof, and the inclined tower served as a support for the cables that hold the vault of the stadium. However, the stadium tower was not built immediately, but in the late 80s.
Today, the stadium tower is considered the most inclined building in the world - it is at an angle of 45 degrees, while the Leaning Tower of Pisa is located at an angle of only 5 degrees.
