Maison Saint-Gabriel Museum

2146 Place Dublin, Montreal, Canada | Pointe-Saint-Charles

About the company:

Maison Saint-Gabriel is a former farm that was acquired by a descendant of the Bourgeoys royal dynasty in 1668. However, it became a historical monument of Canada only in 1965. Since then, many artifacts have been found in the walls of the house. Now its territory is a museum.

The building is currently being reconstructed. The architects decided to recreate its former appearance.

On the territory of the Maison Saint-Gabriel Museum there is a chapel, a basement, a common room, a dormitory, a room for the king’s daughter. In summer, the appearance of the seventeenth century is recreated on the territory of the farm. As a few centuries ago, the farm began to raise animals, engage in agriculture.

The Maison Saint-Gabriel Museum has over fifteen thousand exhibits. Many of them date back to the 17th century. There are also correspondence materials, religious art objects, and textile items. In the old house there is furniture of that era, there are church attributes, as well as ritual clothes and ritual accessories.
