About the company:
The archaeological and historical museum complex Pointe-a-Caller, located in Montreal on Place Royal, opened to visitors in the spring of 1992. It has won numerous prestigious national and international architectural awards, and is now very popular with around 400,000 visitors annually.
The museum complex includes several buildings: Eperon, the House of Sailors, the Archaeological Field School, the building of the former customs and Juville - the first city pumping power plant. In Eperon there are exhibitions dedicated to the birth of the city of Montreal. The lower level of the building is an excavation site and is connected by an underground passage with the former customs building, where the exhibition of culture and life of citizens is now located. The Archaeological Field School demonstrates antiquities found during excavations. The Sailor’s House used to be the Maritime Institute, and now there are exhibition halls and a souvenir shop.
