Commissioner's Park

Ottawa, ON K1S, Canada

Description:

Near Lake Dow, in Ottawa, is the Commissioner's Park. It became famous for its fields of tulips, crocuses and other flowers, which every spring and throughout the growing season please guests with bright colors. In spring, the annual tulip festival is held here, when each piece of land becomes a piece of a huge motley floral carpet.

More than three hundred thousand tulips bloom with the beginning of the festival. Many varieties are very rare and capricious in the Canadian climate, so it is especially rare to see them bloom live. There are narrow winding paths between the fields, along which you can wander all day.

At any time of the year, the Commissioner’s Park is open to the public. In the summer, families often go on a picnic. Lovers prefer to ride boats on the lake. The park has many open spaces for active games and recreation with four-legged pets. On the border with the park there are several cafes and a cozy restaurant.
