Majors Hill Park

Ottawa, Canada

Description:

Major's Hill literally translates as "Major Hill." It is one of the most famous parks in central Ottawa. Its territory is located on the banks of the Rideau River at the confluence of the canal with the Ottawa River. Here the coast is quite high and Majors Hill literally hangs over the water. The park got its name from the house of Major Daniel Bolton, which was located on the territory of the park.

Today, Majors Hill is managed by the National Metropolitan Commission and is one of the few natural sites in this part of the city. There are always some exhibitions, city holidays and festivals.
