Garden of the Provinces and Territories

Ottawa, ON K1R 1C5, Canada

Description:

The Garden of the Provinces and Territories was officially opened on 25 September 1962 as the western gateway to the Houses of Parliament. Here on the territory of one and a half hectares there are special landscape terraces with flags, symbols and emblems of the provinces of Canada, located in the order of their accession to the confederation.

In the garden of the provinces and territories you can find several symbolic monuments and objects. The six-meter fountain, resembling a tree, represents the unity of the confederation. A few concave concrete slabs represent the Great Lakes. Every spring, the park turns into one of the venues for the tulip festival.

The garden is open to visitors at any time of the year. Its alleys are often chosen by citizens and tourists. Tired of the bustle of the city. There are several paths for cyclists.
