Mackenzie King Bridge
Mackenzie King Bridge, Ottawa, ON, Canada
Description:
Just a few blocks from Parliament Hill is the Mackenzie King Bridge. It is named after Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King. Opened in 1951, it has only been restored once. For the construction, $300,000 was allocated to relieve traffic in the city center. Today it is one of the main transport lines for city passenger buses and transit routes.
The bridge passes over the Rideau Canal. On the east bank there is a city bus transit terminal. Here you can find access to the Rideau Centre and admire the building of the headquarters of the Department of National Defense of Canada. On the west bank is the National Arts Center and Confederate Park.
