Portage Bridge
Portage Bridge, Ottawa, ON, Canada
Description:
Portage Bridge got its name in honor of the eponymous road, which passed bypassing Shodière waterfalls and rapids. It connects the suburbs of the Canadian capital with Gatineau, passing over the Ottawa River and partly over Victoria Island.
The bridge was built in 1973 by the decision of the National Capital Commission. In addition to the motorway, there are two wide sidewalks on the bridge. Many tourists gather here, because the Portage Bridge offers magnificent views of the historic part of Ottawa and the suburbs.
