Description:

Tommy Thompson Park is a small nature reserve located on the southern outskirts of Toronto. The park is very beautiful, which attracts a large number of wildlife lovers, photographers and just vacationers.

The park is located on a large artificial spit, which extends five kilometers deep into Lake Ontario. The reserve here was founded in the seventies of the 20th century, but the park received its modern name only in 1985, immediately after the death of Tommy Thompson - the famous ecologist and public figure of Canada.

The area of the park reaches almost 500 hectares. Most of this territory is occupied by flower fields, poplar forests, pebble beaches, sand dunes and swamps.

Tommy Thompson Park attracts a wide variety of visitors - many people come here to see birds that nest in abundance in the territory of the spit. Also here you can meet photographers and naturalists, lovers of hiking and just want to breathe fresh air. The park is very popular among residents of the city and is considered one of the main natural attractions of Toronto.
