Description:
The Toronto Public Library is the largest of all public libraries in Canada and the second busiest in the world (in terms of frequency of visits) after the public library in Hong Kong. The library in Toronto was founded on December 9, 1813, but was looted during the American occupation in April of that year. In 1830, the library was restored at the Institute of Mechanics in York. The library acquired its current name in 1884.
The Toronto Public Library provides equally free access to services: promotes and preserves universal access to a wide range of human experiences, knowledge, ideas and information in a supportive and welcoming environment. The library contains books from all over the world, books in different languages, translated into English.
In addition to books, the library has unique online catalogs that will help you find exactly what you are interested in.
