University of Toronto
Description:
The University of Toronto is not just a crusty institution. This is a perfect example of the perfect combination of grand architecture, rich history and quality education. Founded in 1827 as King’s College, this university has grown to 12 colleges, and the campus now occupies 10 blocks in the city center.
The walls of the university are imbued with knowledge, it is not for nothing that the idea of creating insulin, a stem cell and the invention of an electron microscope was born in this atmosphere.
The Trinity College is the first university building. Its vaults send visitors straight to the XIX century, however, any structure from the architectural ensemble of the University of Toronto makes no less impression.
There are many legends that fill the university. One of them tells about the sad love of two wood carvers for one girl. Everything was not resolved in the most successful way, and the ghost of one of the builders still roams the halls of University College.
Fans of real, not mythological art will surely be interested in Hart House – a cultural and entertainment center for students, which hosts all sorts of concerts, performances and exhibitions.
Such a university is the dream of any student, even if not the most diligent.
