Spadin Museum

285 Spadina Road, Toronto, Canada

About the company:

The Spadin Museum is an estate on Spadina Road in Toronto. It consists of a historic house and gardens around it. The objects of art, the setting of the mansion and its architecture reflect the spirit of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. An excellent example of a mixture of styles from Victorian, Edwardian and colonial to Art Deco and Art Nouveau.

It opened as a museum in 1984 and was previously privately owned. The last owner, Anna Kathleen Thompson, decided not to rebuild the house, which required renovation, but to transfer it and the entire furnishings to the property of the city of Toronto.

The Spadin Museum was closed for restoration work for a year, but in November 2010 it reopened its doors to visitors.

The garden around the estate is one of the most beautiful restored Victorian gardens in Toronto. Walking through it, you can not resist and not take many beautiful photos. At the moment, the garden is often used as a background for filming various films and like to hold wedding ceremonies here.
