Textile Museum
55 Centre Avenue, Toronto, Canada
About the company:
The Museum of Textiles was created by private collectors Simon Woejemaeker and Max Allen in 1974. At first, the collection moved to small rooms, and in 1989 it moved to a separate building on Center Avenue, where it is still located.
Several halls in the museum tell the story of textiles. As exhibits for guests, various types of fabrics collected around the world are presented. There are separate rooms with national clothes, knitted products, carpets. The most beautiful collection of objects is embroidery from beads.
The museum has won numerous awards. These are clay fabrics and a Canadian tapestry.
The Museum of Textiles is open daily except for holidays. For a symbolic amount, the custodians of the exhibits will conduct a detailed tour. Also, you can look at thematic seminars, round tables and lectures, which are held there on schedule.
