Holy Trinity Temple
710 Campbell Ave, Vancouver, BC V6A 3K7, Canada
Description:
The Holy Trinity Temple in Vancouver was built between 1938 and 1940. The first rector of the temple was Archpriest Alexander Kizyun, who independently purchased land for the construction of the temple and actively participated in the construction. All the money was spent on the construction of the temple, so its internal appearance remained modest for a long time. Church utensils were the simplest, the iconostasis was not painted, and the icons were paper.
The decoration of the church was taken up by the second rector of the Holy Trinity Church, Archpriest Philemon Gorelyk. He organized a parish council at the temple, which soon found funds to buy a new carved wooden iconostasis. Stained glass windows, church veils and vestments were ordered. From the Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, New York, an altarpiece was issued. Saturday and Sunday services were regularly held in the new temple.
