Cleveland Dam

vancouver neighborhood, Cleveland Park, Canada

Description:

One of Vancouver’s favorite tourist attractions is the active dam. The concrete dam still provides Vancouver with about 40 percent of its fresh water.

The Cleveland Dam was built in the 50s of the last century on the Capilano River specifically to provide the opportunity to supply Vancouver with fresh water. It was named after Ernest Albert Cleveland, MD, who was the first chief commissioner of the Greater Vancouver Water District.

This massive structure in itself looks very picturesque, especially in seasons rich in precipitation. But since it is located in a picturesque area of the natural park, from the very top of the dam offers an incredible, stunning view. This is noted by all tourists who arrived here. For this unique species, in fact, they come here. Hiking trails are laid around the dam. So you can plan a walk for the whole day.

By the way, it can be noted that the Cleveland Dam appeared in several feature films.
