Tilford Gardens Park
440-333 Brooksbank Ave, North Vancouver, Canada
Description:
Tilford Gardens is an unusual botanical garden created by local enthusiasts back in 1969.
The collective community project quickly became popular: to see the garden (or rather, the gardens, because there are eight, and all different) people come to North Vancouver from all over Canada. Despite a rather modest area, not exceeding 1.2 hectares, many plant species grow in the park. There is an oriental-style zone where Japanese maples coexist with pine trees, bamboo and bonsai trees, flower gardens and greenhouses with azaleas, roses, magnolias, rhododendrons and other exotic plants from different parts of the world and climatic zones. One garden is dedicated to local flora, the other to medicinal and culinary herbs.
The variety of vegetation makes the park interesting at any time of the year. The attractiveness of it is also given by an aviary with parrots and other tropical birds, a pond, waterfalls, fountains, gazebos and other cozy corners for a quiet rest in the lap of nature.
