Butchart Gardens
800 Benvenuto Avenue, Brentwood Bay, BC V8M 1J8, Canada
Description:
It all began with a garden created by the wife of an industrialist. Now it has grown into dozens of hectares, and it has been given the status of a national park. A million species of plants, hundreds of ponds and sculptures, as well as the work of 50 professional gardeners – this is what brings happiness to the endless flow of visitors.
In the Gardens you feel like a hero of a fairy tale, because it is incredible - all the beauty of the world is gathered in one place! All the flowers you can imagine are combined into a beautiful landscape.
The park doesn’t have to be visited just for that. The Butchart couple brought from their wanderings inhabitants: graceful peacocks, snow-white swans, exotic parrots get along here with one family.
This is not all – sculptures from all over the world amaze the imagination, and fountains and waterfalls in their beauty are comparable only to the fountains of Peterhof.
The best time to visit is July and August, when music and fireworks are played here on Saturday evenings. Visiting the gardens, you can take with you a small piece of them - seeds.
