Nitobe Japanese Garden

6300-6570 NW Marine Dr, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z2, Canada

Description:

The Japanese Nitobe Garden, with an area of about 1 hectare, is located on the territory of the University of British Columbia and is part of the Botanical Garden and the Plant Research Center. It is one of the finest examples of Japanese garden art in North America.

The creation of the Japanese garden in Vancouver was a symbolic act - it was supposed to commemorate the friendly relations of the two cities and countries, to become a "bridge across the Pacific Ocean". That is why every detail, every detail was designed on the basis of the main theses of Japanese mythology and philosophy, taking into account the long-term traditions and experience of Japanese specialists.

Among the attractions of Nitobe Garden, as in many of its analogues in different countries of the world - a cozy tea house surrounded by a picturesque garden. Along the tracks there are traditional lanterns decorated with carvings, drawings and various symbols. The paved paths stretch along the pond with exotic fish, the banks of which are connected by elegant bridges. A wonderful place to walk and think about the eternal.
