Lake Lost Lagoon

Vancouver, Canada | Stanley Park

Description:

Lake Lost Lagoon is an artificially created reservoir located near the entrance to Stanley Park. The area of the lake is almost 17 hectares.

The lake was created in 1916 during the construction of a dam in the park. The artificial pond has become a good home and nesting place for many waterfowl - the spike swan, the Canadian goose, many species of ducks, the big blue heron.

A 1.75-kilometer trail is laid around the lake. Here is an illuminated fountain, erected by Robert Harold Williams in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of Vancouver.

The status of a natural reserve was assigned to the lake in 1938.
