Georgia Strait

Southwest Coast of Canada

Description:

The strait, bearing the name of King George III of Great Britain, is a favorite place for tourists who love active rest. In addition to cruise ships, you can find small solitary yachts here, and especially desperate people prefer to scuba dive.

More recently, in 2003, the southern part of the strait and the adjacent territory were awarded the title of a national park. It is the youngest and smallest protected natural site in Canada.

This does not prevent many tourists to relax and enjoy life here. Travelers like the difficulties they have to overcome in order to reach some of the islands – there is only a waterway to them.

Well, those who do not like kayaks, the ferry will deliver to the island of Saturn, from where beautiful views of the strait open. At particularly good times, tourists can see killer whales frolic in the water.

And even fans of museum exhibitions will find something for themselves – there is a small museum on the island, located in a kind of ancient building.
