Old Hastings Mill Store Museum

1575 Alma Street, Vancouver, Canada

About the company:

The Old Hastings Mill Store dates back to 1876, when it was a lumber shop at Hastings Mill at the foot of Dunlevy Street. After demolishing the sawmill, the house was rescued, taken by barge to Alma Street and opened as a heritage museum in 1931.

In the museum you can see artifacts from 1836 from the steamship SS Beaver, as well as Vancouver's first Soviet table.

The collection is very diverse and mostly consists of gifts made by Vancouver residents over the years. Much has been preserved in the house since the Great Fire of Vancouver on June 13, 1886. The building was then used as a hospital to rescue the victims.
