Roedde House Museum
1415 Barclay St., Vancouver, Canada
About the company:
In 1893, a home was built in Vancouver for the Gustava Roedde family, the city’s first bookbinder.
In 1976, the house was inherited by the city. In 1990, the house was reconstructed and opened a museum in order to accurately convey the way of life and life of the family of middle-class immigrants at the turn of the last century. A very painstaking work was carried out on the interior of the house to restore the smallest details.
Until now, the museum operates in three directions: as a museum for excursions and special historical programs for schoolchildren, as a place for musical evenings, tea ceremonies and other entertainments, and as a territory that is rented out for small receptions.
