Pacific Central Railway Station

Description:

Pacific Central Railway Station is the main train and bus station in Vancouver.

The station was built between 1916 and 1919 by Pratt and Ross. In neoclassical style, it was the westernmost station of the Trans-Canadian Railway.

Currently, Pacific Central Railway Station is a depot for trains of VIA Rail Canada, Amtrak rail, Skytrain, as well as a depot and parking for intercity buses.

There are two major bus companies at the station. Also on the territory of the station you will find McDonalds, a cafe, car rental and a gift shop.

In 1991, the station building was listed as a protected heritage building in Vancouver, and in November 2010, the Canadian government allocated $5.1 million for the restoration and renovation of the building.
