Forks Historical Park

Canada, Manitoba Province, Winnipeg, Portage Avenue, 259-393

Description:

Forks, or Fork, has long been called the area in downtown Winnipeg, located at the confluence of the rivers Red and Assinboine. Trade meetings and negotiations have traditionally been held here for many years. More than six thousand years ago, indigenous Canadian tribes gathered here to exchange goods and news. Later, already with European settlers on Razvilka met fur traders, bison hunters, Scottish settlers, railway builders and many others.

Forks remains a favorite meeting place for citizens and guests of Winnipeg. Here, on the territory of about five and a half hectares, many attractions and places of attraction of tourists and vacationers are concentrated. There are historical and ultramodern buildings, a skateboarding park, a historic port on the Assinboine River, several museums, a theater, shopping centers and restaurants. In 1974, Razvilka was declared a Historic Park of Canada.
