Le Musee de Saint-Boniface

494 Tache Ave, Winnipeg, Canada.

About the company:

Le Musee de Saint-Boniface is the oldest building in Winnipeg. Earlier in the building was a convent under the leadership of the organization of sisters of mercy Grey Nuns. The monastery was built in 1846. This is a solid two-storey building with a frame frame.

The activities of the monastery continued until 1951, after which the building housed a shelter, a school, a nursing home and a hospital. In 1958, the building was included in the list of historical places in Canada.

It is now home to a museum dedicated to the history and culture of Franco-Manitobians, a community of French-speaking people living in the province of Manitoba. One of the exhibitions of the museum is dedicated to the founder of Manitoba – Canadian politician Louis Riel. Also, the exposition of the museum tells about other famous residents of the province.
