Winnipeg International Airport
Description:
Winnipeg International Airport named after James Armstrong Richardson is one of the ten largest airports in Canada, each year serving more than three million passengers. It is located on the northeastern outskirts of Winnipeg, the capital of the province of Manitoba.
Winnipeg Airport opened in 1928 and was named Stevenson Airfield in honor of one of the Canadian aviation pioneers. Stevenson Aerodrome became Canada’s first international airport and changed its name to the modern airport in 1958.
Today, Winnipeg Airport owns one modern passenger terminal and two runways. The terminal has two duty-free shops, several cafes and restaurants, as well as an official currency exchange office. In addition, throughout the airport you can connect to free Internet through the Wi-Fi system. Near the terminal is a comfortable hotel, also belonging to the airport.
