Translated from the Kazakh language, “Kolsai” means “lake in the gorge”, because all three lakes are located in the picturesque gorge of the eastern part of the Kungei Alatau ridge, which is 300 km from Almaty.
Charyn Canyon is a 154 km long canyon along the Charyn River in Kazakhstan. The canyon is located 195 km east of Almaty, near the border with China. The canyon is part of the Charyn National Park, formed on February 23, 2004. Nature has created a unique landscape in the desert plain, which attracts not only domestic, but also foreign tourists.
Black canyon scorched like tar canyon. It's an amazing place. Nature has created such a variety of colors. So it is worth to go and see and appreciate this miracle of nature with your own eyes.
