Tsavo East National Park
Kenya, Tsavo, between Mombasa and Nairobi.
Description:
Between Nairobi and Mombasa lies one of the most magnificent national parks in the world and the largest in all of Kenya - East Tsavo. Its territory covers more than 21,000 square kilometers, and the borders as if by an invisible artist are delineated by frozen lava flows. Here reign savannah and bush, in the forests of which there are many African animals, familiar from the pages of books or known from documentary almanacs. The park is famous for the terrible legends of local lions-eaters, who bring terror to the indigenous population of Kenya.
Its entire territory from beginning to end fascinates with its beauty, but there are special places here that will be a huge mistake to miss. This is the Ngulia Canyon and the Tsavo River, the banks of which have long been an oasis for birds and animals. Here enjoy the freedom and life of herds of antelopes, buffalo, come to quench the thirst of giraffes, cheetahs, elephants and other representatives of the African fauna. Another unique creation of nature in the park are the underground springs of Mzim.
The land of Eastern Tsavo became home to centuries-old baobabs. In the park, acacia bloom and umbrella trees spread their crowns.
Eastern Tsavo was founded in April 1948.
