The Great Rift Valley or the Great African Rift is one of the most amazing and unique places on the planet. Here are the most picturesque parks of Kenya and Tanzania. The valley appeared many millions of years ago from the tectonic movement of the earth's plates. It covers more than six thousand kilometers and stretches from the Dead Sea in Jordan to Mozambique. The valley has become a place of a unique ecosystem, where all kinds of animals, birds and plants live in complete harmony.
At the same time, the soil of the “fault” is in motion all the time, and the sea captures more and more of its territory. According to scientists, someday this land will forever break away from the African continent and turn into an island.
The Kenyan part of the African Fault originates at Lake Turkan, passes through the center of the country and ends near Lake Natron.
Now in the Valley there are 30 active or semi-active volcanoes, there are many mineral springs that break through the earth and form lakes. Only flamingos there are up to 4 million individuals!
It is in the Valley that the Great Lakes - Malawi, Tanganyika and Victoria - lie.
