Railway Museum
Off Haile Sellasie Avenue, Nairobi, Kenya.
About the company:
The Nairobi Railway Museum was opened in 1971 in honor of the African railway, built under Queen Victoria, who personally came to launch the first steam locomotive. Here, all the exhibits tell the fascinating story of the construction of the road that was supposed to connect Kenya and Uganda.
The builders were hired in Uganda, and many stayed in Kenya.
These railway tracks are still in working condition and are still in use today.
Among the unique exhibits there are the first three locomotives, which occasionally ride tourists. Here you can see the old passenger cars, a miniature copy of the railway, as well as many beautiful photos.
The museum is open daily from eight in the morning to five in the evening.
