Heart of Cyprus
Description:
We start our excursion in the morning and go to the highest point of Cyprus - Mount Olympus (not to be confused with Olympus, it is located in Greece). The height of Olympus is 1951 meters above sea level. From this point in good weather you can see a very large part of the island.
Then we go to the most famous monastery of Cyprus - Kykkos, which contains the most serious shrines of Christianity - the icon of the Mother of God, written by the Apostle Luke during the earthly life of the Virgin Mary, the relics of 60 saints - John the Baptist, the Apostle Luke, the Apostle Philip, George the Victorious, Nicholas the Wonderworker, etc.
After lunch we will visit the monastery of Trodotissa, where you can touch the icon of the Mother of God, attributed to the brush of the Apostle Luke, who is considered the patroness of boys. Also in this monastery you can hold a ceremony against childlessness, but for the ceremony you need the presence of a man and a woman who must be married.
Next on our way is a visit to the Omodos Monastery, founded in 326 by St. Helena, the mother of Emperor Constantine of the Great Roman Empire. In this monastery, Saint Helena left a piece of rope with which the Savior was tied to the cross.
And at the end of the trip, we will visit the winery, to which we will taste a dozen types of Cypriot wine, which are not inferior in quality to the best wines in the world.
